NurtureNextGen supports student research through competitive GSH Scholarship Program

NurtureNextGen is supporting student research through the UTS Graduate School of Health Research Scholarship Program, a competitive initiative that gives a small group of students the opportunity to gain hands-on research experience alongside UTS research teams.

With only ten places available in 2026, the program enables high-achieving final-year undergraduate and postgraduate coursework students to work alongside experienced researchers and contribute to active research projects across UTS.

Through the scholarship, Master of Medical Biotechnology student Savannah Law has joined the NurtureNextGen research team to develop skills in areas such as research design, critical thinking, data collection and analysis, literature review and scientific communication, while working within an established research team.

For students considering postgraduate research, the program also provides an opportunity to explore research as a future pathway and gain experience of the collaborative work involved in developing and delivering a research project.

Previous GSH Scholarship student Amy Griffiths is now a Research Assistant at UTS. Amy is particularly involved in body mapping, drawing on her arts and psychology background to support this part of the research. Her involvement highlights how students can bring their own strengths and perspectives to different areas of a multidisciplinary research project.

Savannah will focus on developing the digital tool with NurtureNextGen Research Assistant Yufeng Wu, using parent feedback to identify areas for improvement. She will analyse and code feedback using the Rigorous and Accelerated Data Reduction (RADaR) technique, which helps organise and synthesise feedback into practical insights to refine the tool.
