The NurtureNextGen project is moving into a new phase focused on translating co-design insights into a working digital support tool for families. This next step centres on turning research findings into something practical and usable. Following success in the Research to Impact (R2I) Validate Scheme, the NurtureNextGen project is now collaborating with UTS Rapido to support this transition.
The R2I Validate Scheme is designed to help researchers bridge the gap between research and real-world application by providing access to prototyping and development expertise. Through this scheme, NurtureNextGen is working with Rapido, a University of Technology Sydney research and development unit that brings together software developers, engineers and user-experience specialists to support applied, user-centred solutions.
Rapido’s expertise in software development and user-experience design supports the project’s transition from insight-gathering to early prototyping. This stage focuses on building and testing an initial version of the digital tool, with attention to usability, accessibility and reliability across different contexts and devices.
The collaboration brings together parent insight, research expertise and applied development to support the practical translation of findings into a working prototype. Rather than focusing on technology for its own sake, this phase centres on how design decisions can meaningfully support families navigating genetic neurodevelopmental conditions.
Under the R2I Validate Scheme, the next stage of the project focuses on developing and testing an early prototype. Further updates will be shared as this research-to-impact work continues.
